The Weber Genesis Gas Grill

Weber Genesis Natural Gas Grill Range

The Weber Genesis Gas Grill is one of Weber's premium rated and most expensive grills, behind the Summit grill that is. Even with that said though, they are one of the cheapest grills on the market for the type of quality you are getting when you buy one. Overall if you are planning on buying a Genesis then you are expecting the grill to last you a long time. Many grills with similar features to the Weber Genesis have been known to last only a couple of years before things start to go wrong, like uneven cooking and faulty parts.

Part of the Weber Genesis grills success is down to it's patented flavourizer bars which make your food taste simply fantastic. The benefit is that you have 3 of these bars and you can turn off the third bar if you want to cook food indirectly or keep it warm. It is true when people say that there is no substitute for a charcoal grill but truly the Weber Genesis gas grill certainly comes as close as you are going to get.

About the Genesis Range

There are several grills to choose from in the Genesis range, 6 in total at present. You have the following grills available from around $500 up to $1,500 depending on what you want from your grill:

Weber Genesis E-310

This grill generally retails around $688 dollars on the open market and has an average internet rating of around 4 out of 5. If this grill is taken care of then there is no reason why it shouldn't last 10 years or more. The grill has 3 main propane burners but no side burners so if you do need that extra cooking space then the E-310 probably isn't for you.

Weber Genesis E-320

The E-320 is slightly more expensive than the E-310 and retails around $749 with an average internet rating of around 5 out of 5. This is a 3 burner propane grill which allows you to treat each burner separately, giving you full control over your cooking. In addition to the main burners the E-320 has left hand side burners which give you even more space to do your cooking.

Weber Genesis EP-310

Again, this grill is slightly more expensive than the aforementioned two and retails around $824 depending on where you look, generally the best bargains are on eBay. Is has an average internet rating of 5 out of 5 on all aspects. Just remember that you don't get the side burners on the EP-310 so if you are in need of a little more cooking space then the EP-320 is probably going to serve you better.

Weber Genesis EP-320

The Weber EP-320 retails around the same price as the EP-310 and in all honesty there isn't much difference between the two other than the fact that the EP-320 is slightly improved in it's cooking ability and the EP-320 has the side burners for that extra cooking space, great for doing onions and mushrooms off of. Both grills still retain an average rating of around 5 out of 5 across the internet.

Weber Genesis S-310

The Weber S-310 is a stainless steel version of the EP series and that really is the only major difference, the look of the grill. The retail price averages around $888 with an average customer rating of around 4 out of 5. Again, because this is the 310 series it doesn't have the side burners.

Weber Genesis S-320

The Weber S-320 is another stainless steel grill from Weber, it really does boast quality when it sits on your patio. The grill has side burners to the right hand side giving you extra cooking space over the S-320. It averages around $920 in price and the average customer rating is around 5 out of 5.

Major Differences Between Genesis E, EP, SP Series

There is only one major difference between the E, EP and SP series genesis grills and that is that the E & EP have a porcelain exterior. The porcelain exterior is great for looks and is great for maintainence and cleaning but you do have to be really careful that you don't scratch the casing when moving or storing your grill.

In comparison the Weber SP range have a stainless steel casing. The stainless steel grills are cheaper by around $50-100 and they can last longer than the EP and E series. One thing to be aware of is that the external part of the grill does get very hot during the summer which the porcelain grill doesn't.

Major Differences Between the Genesis 310 and 320 Series

The only major difference to be aware of when looking at the 310 and the 320 is that the 320 has side burners on the left hand side of the grill. If you need extra cooking space then the 320 is going to be far better for you and will only cost around $50-80 extra in price.
